Nov Wed 2024
The Aizhai-Shibadong-Dehang Grand Canyon Scenic Area was included among the top 100 5A-level scenic areas in China at the award ceremony of “Scenic Operation Conference and MBI Grand Ceremony of Meadin 2024” held in Suzhou City of Jiangsu Province on November 14.

The scenic area is mainly composed of the Aizhai Wonders Tourist Area, the Shibadong Scenic Area, and the Dehang Grand Canyon, which are connected by the 209 National Highway, with a 10-minute drive.

The Shibadong Scenic Area, located in Shuanglong Town of Huayuan County, is the pioneer of “targeted poverty alleviation” and also a window to observe the changes of Chinese rural areas.

In recent years, on the basis of preserving the style of Miao villages, Shibadong has added cultural experience forms such as Miao embroidery, carried out multiple folk activities shared by villagers and tourists, and developed rural tourism. It has achieved sustainable utilization of tourism resources such as mountains, waters, forests, and fields, and explored a unique path to poverty reduction and alleviation.

In 2021, the Aizhai-Shibadong-Dehang Grand Canyon Scenic Area was rated as a national 5A-level tourist attraction, which is the first one in Xiangxi Prefecture.

Meadin Academy Research Institute, an authoritative data analysis institution in the domestic cultural and tourism industry, is dedicated to establishing a cultural and tourism big data analysis platform. This award is exclusively released by Meadin mainly based on four indicators including the search volume, operation, indices, and comments. The MBI index ranking is calculated through comprehensive analysis, which reflects the brand influence of a scenic area in the country over a period of time. It aims to establish an industry benchmark and promote the high-quality development of the industry.
